They could agree to accompany you to church. Even better, you might be able to introduce them to the Gospel, which will help them to be saved from sin. According to Romans 3:23, all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory. As a result, everyone requires a Savior. This is something you should be able to explain to them.
God sent His only son to live under the law in order to redeem those who were under the law, allowing us to become His children. Rom. 4:15-16
To atone for our sins, Jesus had to come to Earth, live a sinless life that would make him eligible to be the ultimate sacrifice for our filthy sins, and eventually die. The Bible says…
“Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”
– Hebrews 9:22
